Hande Sekerciler was born in 1982 in Bursa, Turkey. She attended Marmara University Department of Arts and Crafts Teacher Education from 1998 to 2002. Hande is a sculptor known for her figurative sculptures. Her sculptures have been influenced by realistic works of renaissance and Hellenistic periods. By time, Hande’s sculptures have evolved and include many more details. Her interest in technology and new production techniques helps her to mix classical forms and contemporary production methods. She uses state-of-the-art software and hardware during her productions.
In 2018, the art collective she started with new media artist Arda Yalkın had been accepted to Residency Unlimited which is one of the most respectable hosted artist programs in New York, USA. They worked there for 3 months to launch the first personal exhibition of ha:ar. They has been selected as the administrator of the Digi-Gather 2019 education program that is coordinated by UNCHR.
She currently works and lives between Istanbul and New York.
